JOB DESCRIPTION

Located in the historic Archer's Cottage with spectacular lake views and signature roaring log fires inside and out, Botswana Butchery is one of Queenstown's most stylish and busiest restaurants having recently been awarded a Cuisine Good Food Award Chefs Hat.

We are currently looking for experienced hospitality people to join the team at Botswana Butchery in Queenstown as either an Expeditor / Pass Master or as Runners. 

Along with your experience, we are after individuals who will thrive on working in a fun, fast paced and a high-volume environment, working along-side a committed team with a strong service focus.

These roles are based in the central Queenstown, which provides a great opportunity to excel and showcase your skills and passion as an overall leader who can inspire staff through a busy service with a cool and experienced head.

Expeditor ‘Pass Master’
“To co-ordinate the smooth running of all interactions between the Floor and the Kitchen”

The Front of House 'Expeditor/Pass Master' ensures that all kitchen orders are prepared in a timely manner, according to menu specifications and customer expectation.  The Expeditor will also direct kitchen runners and wait staff who are delivering completed orders. 


RECOMMENDED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Crew Member
Food & Beverage Attendant
Food Runner
Glassy/Bar back
Waitstaff

Please note: You should have a minimum up to 6 months previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

Skill set needed:

  • Can work well under pressure
  • Proven skilled multi-tasker
  • Perfected communication skills
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Organised and able to follow systems
  • Staff management skills
  • Minimum 6 months experience in a similar role

Food Runner
“To provide assistance to waitstaff and bartenders at restaurants”

Runners work to get food and beverages from the kitchen or bar to the table as quickly and seamlessly as possible.  They present these to the customer ensuring that everything looks as good as possible, while also being knowledgeable enough to be able to answer questions and instruct the customers where needed.

Skill set needed:

  • Must be reliable, punctual, and well presented
  • Able to carry 3 plates / drinks tray
  • Must have a good command of English
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communicator and team player
  • Minimum 6 months experience on the floor of a restaurant or cafe
